Duckweed and Watermeal
Duckweed and watermeal are of the same family. They both are small
(watermeal being the smallest) and like a soil environment that
is high in nutrients as well as calm stagnant water.
Duckweed can be invasive if left unchecked. To control duckweed,
watermeal and other aquatic weeds use Eliminator Aquatic Weed Killer.
To control future duckweed growth increase lower water circulation
in and around stagnant water areas. This will distribute concentrated
nutrients to other parts of the pond or lake.
AQUATIC WEED KILLER
Kills the duckweed but not fish!
A versatile, concentrated, non-selective AQUATIC weed killer herbicide
used to kill and control AQUATIC weeds in ponds, lakes and drainage
ditches.
It offers no residual action, is water-dilutable and is only effective when absorbed by foliage. It becomes inactive upon contact with soil.
Effective Against:
Cattail, Duckweed, watermeal, Waterlettuce, Algae, Bladderwort,
Coontail, Elodea, Naiad, Pondweed, Water milfoil, Egeria Densa,
Floating Weeds, and Shoreline Weeds.
AQUATIC WEEDS: For application to ponds, lakes, and drainage ditches where there is little or no outflow of water and which are totally under the control of the products user. Do not use treated water for animal consumption, spraying, irrigation or domestic purposes for 14 days after treatment. For control of submerged weeds, dilute and inject below the water surface, or pour directly into the water while moving slowly over the area in a boat. Apply early in the season before weed growth has reached the surface. Do not apply to muddy water, and do not agitate the water excessively with outboard motor or injection equipment during application. Wash sprayer immediately after application with detergent and water then rinse with clear water. For control of cattail, duckweed, water lettuce and floating weeds, use 20 to 48 gallons per acre diluted with 30 to 150 gallons of water. For best results, use a non-ionic surfactant in the spray mixture. Apply as a foliar treatment before flowering of weeds or as a late season treatment. Apply to thoroughly wet weeds. Repeat application as needed. EPA REG. NO. 10088-13-6856 2 EPA EST. NO. 10088-WI-1
